Monday night I got some girlfriends together and we all headed to the FAIR (!!!!) to see some of our favorite bands from the 90s! Listen to this lineup: Lit, Gin Blossoms, Sugar Ray, and Everclear! It was a blast and a half and after our second beers you could see us standing up in our box, dancing and singing along! HOO BOY-- good clean fun. Biggest disappointment of 2012? Mark McGrath never took his shirt off. Turns out I'm still a 15 year old girl inside when you start playing the songs of my youth.
I was BESIDE myself when the girls were as excited as I was to try something WILD and CRAZY after the show. I decided I wanted to get a deep fried Snickers bar, but once I saw there was a DEEP FRIED Reese's Cup my decision was made!
Here it is! A deep fried Reese's "Big Cup" peanut butter cup! After the onion blossom I had to have, as well as bites from my pals zucchini curls, deep fried cheese curds and kettle corn...I think I'll be okay until the fair comes back next year. Honestly? I'll probably be fine if I don't eat another piece of fair food for five years! HA!
Of course what is the Fourth of July without a BBQ and fireworks?!
We caught local fireworks with family and friends not far from home (I HATE driving around on holidays like this you can guarantee people are driving irresponsibly) and the weather was great, the company was better, and the fireworks were the best!
I brought 6-layer dip, Bubba Burgers (If you've never had you MUST! Best burgers EVER!), and a very patriotic chocolate mousse cake. Two years ago Skipp and I hosted an Independence Day party and I'm STILL worn out from all the preparations and cooking! What am I getting at? I bought all this stuff at Vons and didn't have to think twice about any of it! The BEST way to spend the holiday.
Of course what is a barbecue without S'MORES?!? I already posted this photo on Twitter and Instagram but it makes me so hungry every time I look at it I just HAD to include it. Isn't it the most perfect s'more of all time?! Amazing. I can practically taste it.
Of course I haven't been to the gym in TWO WHOLE WEEKS now. Instead? CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP! Alas, summer is the time to enjoy all the fresh fruits and veggies the season has to offer!
How did you spend the Fourth this year?

Two weeks! Haven't been to the gym in months!!! LOL. Happy 4th!
For the Fourth we enjoyed staying at home, grilling out and reading. Then we watched the PBS Capitol Fourth of July performances and fireworks. Weather has been dicey around here lately with lots of severe weather so we did not want to get caught outside in something!
