First stop on the agenda? Wining and dining with the lovely Kappa Prep! We enjoyed Tex Mex at Mi Cocina and she brought me a number of sweet treats for my trip. What a darling. Adore her!
I had a hard time adjusting to the time change and found myself doubling up on the (non-diet, this IS a vacation after all!) Dr. Pepper. I certainly wasn't tired after these two!!!
Before I left I was glad I could get some "real" Texas BBQ! I really enjoyed this brisket, mac n' cheese and potato salad I picked up at the airport from Dickey's. Next time I'll surely venture out into the city to find true Texas BBQ!
Of course I couldn't visit Texas and not enjoy some Luzianne sweet tea! I practically had an IV inserted so I could keep my thirst quenched all weekend. My blood sugar has yet to return to normal. HA!
Fort Worth's "7th Avenue" had some AMAZING boutiques and eating! My favorite shop was Peruvian Atelier with darling clothes and lots of Peruvian rugs and artifacts. I bought the most DARLING dress (with a BOW!) that I wore on Sunday that got TONS of compliments.

Another FAVORITE place we visited was Tillman's Roadhouse. The food was unique and DELICIOUS and the ambiance was the best in Texas! I loved the decor, dining and drinks! We had a blast there. So much fun I didn't snap a single photo. You'll simply have to drop by yourself!
Another great eatery was Grace. I enjoyed the filet mignon which came with an entire head of roasted garlic! AMAZING. We also ordered the potatoes gratin (yum) and baby spinach (also good) and enjoyed them along with some great wines and good company!
Of course we missed the puppies a great deal and were pleased to see they did just fine while we were away. Bitsy is getting bigger and bigger (she turns 1 next week!) and was so excited we had returned and that she was not, infact, an orphan, as she had begun to fear. Of course Bandit was so excited I wasn't even able to get a shot of him standing still. He's such a darling but I don't think I've been able to take a decent photo of him in months! HA!
While it wasn't this weekend, we were excited to watch segments of the Westminster Dog Show with the kiddos on Monday and we were all so happy to see not one but THREE dachshunds in the hound group. A wirehaired dachshund won the hound group (!!!) but as of this writing, the BEST IN SHOW has not yet been chosen.
What a wonderful weekend we had! How was your weekend?

Dr. Pepper real is a SUGAR pick-me-up. It cannot fail to zip me into form when I need to divert from my regular Cherry Coke.
So glad you get that Luzianne is THE southern sweet tea brand. All the other stuff is cruddy in comparison. They make the bestest decaf, IMHO. I think I've talked to you about that before though!
I am such a big fan of roasted garlic, really adore it and eating it. One clove is plenty for M but I could eat a whole head of garlic without issue! Such great flavor.
Wish I coulda dined with ya both! XXOO
